The SSAUK web site was set up to allow users find out all about the industry and locate the centres most local or convenient to them. Significantly it is also a major communication link with and between self storage companies. Ordinary users can search for a Storage company close to them and full members (namely, storage companies) can book seminars and communicate with other companies amoung other things.

Downloading - Illegal or Legal

Don't worry, I know those eye's are scary, but its not real, it's just a picture. Never-the-less, get caught downloading music or movies illegally, those eyes will be the least of your worries.

There are strings of cases building up of little people like you and I(not that we do anything remotely illegal or that we are particularly little) getting taken to the courts by giants like Paramount.

A British judge last month ordered five ISPs to name 33 music file sharers who were using the ISP's connection to the internet. The individuals concerned had uploaded more than 72,000 music files to the internet.

The fines given to guilty parties are huge because the potential amount of downloads are so astronomical. Fines can be into the 100's of millions of dollars.

However, legal downloading of our favourite tracks is nearly as popular as the old favourite pastime of going down to the local record shop and picking up a copy of Westlife's new ballad. Its popularity is reflected by its recent inclusion in the top 40 singles sales charts. But if you ask me, A-Tracks are still the best and you really can't beat a slice of vinyl.

Cliquepad was designed to be different from exisiting dating sites. The idea was to look more sophisticated than other sites and appeal to a wider audience. The site enables the user to register, login, search users, create a profile, add a picture and send or receive email via its internal mailing system. The site use's online payment via Worldpay and is a full e-commerce solution.

Staff Profile - Dawn Preston

From the newest member of the web team last month we hop happily on to our longest serving employee, Dawn. Dawn has been with MRS Web since the big bang itself, helping mold the well oiled machine into the self lubricating contraption it is today.

Dawn, or Dangerous Dawn as we like to call her (there was Dodgy and Dutiful but these didn't bear well) is a major disc in the backbone of MRS operations. She is business creator, business carer, customer relator and project manager for the most part and for the other part she plays her Sergeant Major part with all us other Corporals.

Dawn is a very keen swimmer, spinner and keep fitter. A healthy girl at heart she spreads the message to her weekly swimming classes where she coaches shoals of Kids how to doggy paddle, get the brick from the bottom of the pool and perform the essential underwater hand-stand in the shallow end.
